Jee-Koyel vs Jeet-Swastika

A tale of two pairings......
Jeet is the common factor though. He has had one of the most successful pairings in Bangla Cinema, with Koyel Mallik, as they have had an impressive track-record of hit films.

Jeet and Swastika Mukherjee had at one point of time been talked about in tabloids for their off-screen bonding. However, it didn't translate into a whole lot of successful films. Yet, one can easily detect a sparkling camaraderie when they work together. The romance may have long turned sour, but one can savour their pairing on screen and chuckle: It ain't easy to tell what makes a pair click.

Hiran Chatterjee is back with a bang, beefing up for 'Macho Mustafa'.
He has been working out with gusto, and leaving no stones unturned to gel with his fans and followers.
It's been quite some time that Hiran has been in the scene.
Post his debut in Haranath Chakraborty's 'Nabab Nandini', he has acted in quite a few films; some fared decently, most fizzled out.
But Hiran has developed a flair for connecting with fans, especially in the virtual space. He was one of the first celebrity bloggers from Tollygunge. Thereafter, he has established his connect via social networking sites. He connects with the members of his fan club in the real space too, his birthday bash being the big event.
I wish his films give us bigger reasons to celebrate.

Yet Another Raj!

Raj is so common a name when it comes to our heroes.......
in films, it is one of the most successful and hence oft-repeated names,
given to male protagonists.........
and there are some actors with the name too.
One of the newest guys in Bangla cinema is
Raj Bhattacharya........ here he is:

He does have the looks and got noticed in the Bangla action flick 'Fight 1:1', which had been conceived by Satabdi Roy, and directed by Debaditya.

Feluda Once Again!

Feluda is the most successful series on celluloid in Bangla.
The smart sleuth, quintessentially Bangali, is a unique fictional creation of Satyajit Ray, and it is unanimously agreed that the first two films ('Sonar Kella' and 'Joy Baba Felunath') directed by Ray himself were too good. The legacy has been attempted to be continued by Sandip Ray (the maestro's son) as he has tried to recreate the magic first on the small screen and then on the big screen as well, with varying degrees of success.
The last film in this series had released last December. And the promos had created a unique buzz. Here's taking a look:

Even before the name of the film ('Gorosthaane Saabdhaan') was publicised, came the teasers announcing the sleuth's arrival in theaters.......

The movie turned out to be a huge hit with the school-goers and the college-going crowd, with or without the families, turning up in hordes at the multiplexes. The same success is now attempted to be repeated by the makers, as, this December, Feluda is arriving in the crime caper 'Royal Bengal Rahosyo'.
